Goldman Sachs Launches a Small Business AI Institute With Google, Anthropic, OpenAI and Meta

The $500 million expansion of its 10,000 Small Businesses program adds AI training and tools for owners.

Goldman Sachs launched the Small Business AI Institute on Thursday, October 22, according to NBC News. It is part of a $500 million expansion of the bank's 10,000 Small Businesses program, and Goldman says it is working with Google, Anthropic, OpenAI and Meta to provide AI training and tools to small businesses.

NBC reports that in a 2026 survey of more than 2,400 program graduates, 86% said they use AI in their businesses, up from 56% in 2024. Only 15% said they have fully integrated AI into core operations. NBC's article does not say who qualifies for the Institute beyond describing it as aimed at entrepreneurs.

Several owners quoted by NBC said AI is meant to help people, not replace them. One described the view this way: "People are priceless."

Why it matters for your business

Most owners are already experimenting, so the gap is using AI in daily operations, not trying it once. If you want training, watch the 10,000 Small Businesses program for details on how to apply, and pick one repeat task this week to hand to an AI tool.
