The 10 Best Wireless Microphones for Creators and Small Business Video
Ten clip-on wireless mic systems for video, podcasts and phone footage, with specs taken from each maker's own page.
Bad sound drives viewers away faster than bad video. A small wireless mic clipped to your shirt fixes most of it. This week Sony announced the ECM-W5 kit for $400, which ships in November, so we left it off until it is on sale. The ten below are on their makers' sites now.
Most official pages do not show prices, and several send you to Amazon, so we only quote a price where Engadget gives one. Check the current price before you buy.
1DJI Mic 3
DJI lists dual-file 32-bit float internal recording and support for 4 transmitters and 8 receivers. Engadget calls it the best wireless mic for most people. The catch, per Engadget: no 3.5mm port for wired mics. Engadget cites a $259 price.

DJI lists 48 hours of operation with the charging case and two-level active noise cancelling. It is the small, cheap pick. Engadget cites $99 for the system, and DJI's page did not show specs for range or weight.
Visit DJI Mic Mini →3DJI Mic 2
DJI lists 250 m range, 18 hours of battery and 14 hours of internal 32-bit float recording. It is the older model, so check for discounts against the Mic 3.

RØDE lists up to 260 m range and 32 GB of internal memory per transmitter, over 40 hours of recording. The kit includes two Lavalier II mics and a smart charging case. It is aimed at professionals, so expect a higher price.
Visit RØDE Wireless PRO →5RØDE Wireless Micro
Two clip-on transmitters and a USB-C or Lightning receiver that plugs into your phone. RØDE lists up to 21 hours with the charging case. It also connects to iPhones over Bluetooth with no receiver.
Visit RØDE Wireless Micro →6RØDE Wireless ME
A compact system with a range over 100 m and up to 7 hours of battery. It ships with cables for phones, cameras and computers. The range is the shortest on this list.
Visit RØDE Wireless ME →7RØDE Wireless GO II
RØDE lists up to 200 m range and up to 7 hours of battery. It is an older design, and Engadget's current guide picks the newer Wireless GO (Gen 3) as its runner-up. Check whether the Gen 3 fits your budget.

Hollyland lists up to 300 m line-of-sight range and a transmitter that weighs about 9 g. Battery is about 10 hours per charge. Kits come in camera, mobile and combo versions, and its page sends you to Amazon for prices.
Visit Hollyland LARK M2 →9Hollyland LARK A1
Hollyland lists 200 m range, 48 kHz/24-bit audio and up to 54 hours of total charge from the case. Transmitters last about 9 hours, or 6.5 with noise cancellation on. Price is shown on Amazon only.
Visit Hollyland LARK A1 →10Shure MoveMic Two
Shure lists about 8 hours per mic, up to 24 with the case, and an IPX4 water rating. It records straight to a phone. Without the separate receiver it only works with phone apps, not cameras.

We picked currently sold wireless mic systems and confirmed range, battery and kit details on each maker's own product page. Where we describe a verdict or a drawback we credit Engadget. Maker pages often leave out prices, so we did not list them. We could not open other review sites during this run, and we left Sony's ECM-W5 off because it is pre-order only.
