Easy Explain Tech Shows How to Put Gemini to Work in Gmail, Docs and Sheets
A three-and-a-half-minute tour of the Gemini features already sitting inside Google Workspace, released the same week Google announced its new Gemini agent.
Owners and small teams who already pay for Google Workspace and want to start using the Gemini features they have, without sitting through a long course.
What you'll learn
- Use Gemini inside Google Docs, Gmail, Sheets and Google Vids
- Type "@" to point Gemini at your own files and data
- Set up automated weekly summaries
- Write better prompts with the creator's "BRIEF" formula
Google used this week to announce a Gemini agent and coworker agents for Workspace (see today's lead story). Before you plan around what is coming, it helps to know what Gemini can already do in the apps you open every day. This short video covers Docs, Gmail, Sheets and Google Vids, and shows how the "@" symbol lets Gemini work from your own files instead of guessing.
Check your plan first. According to Google's Workspace pricing page, Business Starter includes Gemini in Gmail and Vids only, while Business Standard and above add Gemini in Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Meet and Chat. After watching, try one thing: ask Gemini in Gmail to summarize the longest thread in your inbox, then ask it to draft your reply.
