Notion Releases Rebuilt AI Agents That Can Work for Up to 24 Hours

Notion says its agents now get their own computer and browser, a safety-check mode, and a model router that stretches credits about 10 times further.

Notion announced a rebuilt version of its AI agents in release notes dated October 19, 2026. According to Notion's release notes, the company rebuilt the agent harness (the software that lets an agent use tools and manage its work), and agents can now work on tasks for up to 24 hours.

Notion says agents now get their own computer and browser, better context management, and a "Review for me" mode with safety checks. It also says mobile chats load up to 50% faster. A model router called Auto picks a model for each task to balance quality, speed and cost. Notion says that across more than 20 common tasks, Auto gave results similar to Opus 5.5 and Astra at about 90% lower average cost, and that credits go about 10 times further. Those figures are Notion's own claims.

Users can also connect a ChatGPT Plus, Pro or Go plan to their personal Notion Agent, and Notion's MCP connection now lets agents use Notion as shared memory. Coming soon are an AI Command Center, where admins can see usage by person, feature and agent and set spending limits, and a single credit system covering all AI usage. The entry does not list credit amounts, prices or which plans get each feature, apart from a private alpha of bring-your-own-key for Enterprise.

Why it matters for your business

If your team runs projects or client work in Notion, try one long, boring job, such as sorting a month of meeting notes into tasks, and use the review mode so you see what the agent plans before it acts. Wait for Notion to publish credit amounts and the spending limits before you hand agents to the whole team.
