Google Releases Deep Review, an AI Document Checker, to the Public

Everyone gets two free AI reviews a week for PDFs and text files, covering papers, legal, finance and presentation documents.

Google Research opened Deep Review to the public on October 14, according to the Google Research blog. It is an AI system that reads a long document and gives detailed feedback. It started with academic papers and now also covers legal, financial, design and presentation documents.

The tool checks logical consistency, verifies mathematical statements, grounds facts against outside sources and compares a document with existing work. Google says it splits the document into sections, runs several checking agents in parallel, then combines the results with final grounding checks.

Access is at research.google/deepreview. Every user gets two free document reviews a week. Heavier users can connect a Gemini API key for higher limits and programmatic access through the Deep Review API. At launch it accepts PDFs and plain text, and multi-file input is planned but not available yet.

On privacy, Google says uploaded documents are never used to train, fine-tune or improve its models. It stores them for one year so you can view them in the Deep Review interface.

Why it matters for your business

Try it on a contract draft, a proposal or a financial summary before it goes out, and treat the output as a second pair of eyes, not a sign-off. Read the one-year storage note before uploading anything confidential, and ask your lawyer or accountant for the final call.
