Google Cloud Adds OpenAI's GPT-6 Models and Codex to Its Model Garden
Businesses that buy cloud services from Google can now try OpenAI's models in a private preview, billed on their existing Google invoice.
Google Cloud announced on October 21, 2026 that OpenAI's models are coming to Model Garden, its catalog of AI models for business customers, according to Google Cloud's own blog post. The first three are GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna. Google describes Astra as the choice for demanding work such as coding and computer use, Sol as near-Astra quality at lower cost, and Luna as a fast, low-cost model for everyday work at scale.
The models are in private preview for select enterprise customers. The Next Web reports that OpenAI plans general availability "in the coming weeks." Developers can already connect OpenAI's Codex coding tools to Google's platform, and the models are listed as coming soon to Google Antigravity and Gemini for business.
For buyers, Google says the models are sold through Google Cloud Marketplace, appear on a single Google Cloud invoice and can count toward existing cloud spending commitments. It also says prompts and outputs stay inside the customer's data perimeter and are not used to train models. Zero Data Retention and Confidential Compute are listed as coming soon. No pricing was published, and Microsoft remains OpenAI's primary cloud partner, according to The Next Web.
This is mostly an enterprise story today, but it points to where tools are heading: one bill, several AI makers. If you already run software on Google Cloud, you can request access through the interest form in Google's post. If not, nothing changes for you yet, so wait for general availability and published prices before you plan around it.
